A rich vintage with beautiful complexity that reminds us of the surrounding scrubland, with aromas of thyme and undergrowth. Located at an altitude of 110 meters, this vineyard extends to the east of Orange, at the junction of the four communes of Violès, Travailan, Camaret-sur-Aigues and Jonquières. Bathed in sunshine, it also benefits from the cleansing virtues of a vigorous mistral.
The few woods still present are scattered in the heart of this vineyard located on a bed of red clay and a multitude of large pebbles which sink into the ground up to ten meters deep. Due to this considerable thickness, the land is skeletal and produces little: barely more than one bottle per vine!
Grape varieties: 65% Grenache - 25% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre.
Aging: Traditional winemaking. Total destemming upon receipt of the grapes. Average vatting time of approximately 15 days. Shedding for fine extraction of color, daily pumping over. Manual punching.
The nose opens with small red fruits and reveals notes of spices. On the palate, the cherry gives the gourmet side of the attack, in continuation the raspberry brings freshness and acidity, a black pepper finish. A structured vintage with great complexity. To be enjoyed when young, this red is invigorating and refreshing.
