In 1966, Marcel and Yvonne Viallet took over the small "Domaine Clos Réservé" (2.5 ha) located in Apremont, near the town of Chambéry. In 1984, Philippe Viallet, their second son, decided to work at the family estate after completing his viticulture studies in Beaune. He quickly developed big plans and founded "Maison Philippe Viallet." Under this name, he took over several wine estates in Savoie, Jura, Provence, and Corsica. Roussette de Savoie is produced from a very old local grape variety, Altesse. A fresh and crisp wine with a beautiful fullness and notes of ripe citrus, apple, white fruits, and a lively acidity on the finish.
