More than a thousand years ago, a handsome young count rode through the forest below the Ulzecht. At that time – in the year 963 – it was just as dark and eerie as it is in the middle of the Green Forest today. At the top of the Clausen mountain, he came to a place that we still call “the goat” today…
Unfortunately, the young count lacked the necessary financial means to build a castle on this mountain. In his desperation, he sold his soul to the devil and made a pact with him.
One day, he met the beautiful Melusina and fell in love with her, without knowing that she had a dark secret. Melusina was a mermaid! The two were married, but fate was not to be kind to them, and Sigfrid's wit also ultimately led the couple to misfortune.
In the context of the 1050th anniversary of the city of Luxembourg, Lex Roth retells the tale of Melusina. The modern and lively illustrations by Marina Herber, a talented emerging artist, are also aimed at a young audience. The manga-style drawings put the classic legend in a new light.
In the language leaflet you will also find an English, French and Portuguese translation.
A classic in a new guise – ideal for refreshing general knowledge and as a gift!
