Rutland red is an English cheese produced in Leicestershire. It is a pressed cheese, made from cow's milk, with a firm, homogeneous texture and a fruity flavor, reminiscent of Edam or Cheddar cheese. It is traditionally coloured a rich orange with achiote, carrot or beetroot, incidentally there is no other colour than this.
